FAQs

  • How do I sign up for a Bob Ross workshop?

Please give me a ring or contact me via email and we can discuss and agree on when you are free to come to a workshop. Once we agree on a date, we're done.

I'm happy to teach you on your own or if you like, you can bring up to 3 friends.

  • How much are your workshops?
My workshops are £60 per person and this includes all equipment you need to create your masterpiece. I also provide cups of tea & coffee.

Please pay on the day, cash is preferred.

  • How do I know I can paint?

Many of my students had never painted before coming to their first class. But, not one of them failed to finish a ready-to-frame painting they were proud of in their very first class. You can do it, too!

  • Tell me about the Bob Ross "wet-on-wet" technique.

It is the application of wet paint on top of wet paint, omitting the traditional "wait" for each layer to dry. Using special firm oil paints and starting with a wet-based canvas, the paint may be glided across the canvas with large brushes and palette knives - making clouds, trees and water appear in seconds. And, it's so easy! Try it!!

  • What types of painting are taught?

Three types of paintings are taught by me in Fleet, (NE Hampshire-UK) are:

    • Landscapes

    • Seascapes

    • Florals

  • Who can come to the classes?

    • Anyone over 12 years old (mature enough to take instruction)

    • Beginners

    • Advanced

    • The artistically undiscovered.

  • How long are the classes?

Classes are normally about 5 hours long. (10 am start - 3/4 pm, with a lunch break).

  • But we finish when you finish, you can take your time it doesn't matter. What matters is that you finish your painting at your speed and have fun doing it.

  • How often are the classes given?

    Normally about One a week.

  • Where are classes held?

In my Studio in Fleet, Hampshire, where I have room for 4 students.

The address of my Studio in the Garden is:
    Pinehurst
    Atbara Road
    Church Crookham
    Fleet, Hampshire
    GU52 8JZ

  • How are the classes conducted?

All students paint the same painting.

I teach classes in a very easy-to-understand, step-by-step method. You are shown how to paint a feature and you then paint that step while I oversee your progress.

Even though you've never painted before, in your very first class with your own talents, you complete a ready-to-frame painting that you are proud to take home.

  • What do I have to bring to a workshop?

I supply all the equipment you need to produce your masterpiece.

Make sure you wear old clothes as you are likely to get paint on you and oil paint doesn't come off your clothes.

Other than tea and biscuits, I don't provide food so please also bring something to eat for lunch.
